Since 1997, Simposio has served some of the finest Northern Italian cuisine in the city. While the move will allow Luti, a native of Tuscany, Italy, to expand his kitchen and restaurant, most importantly, it will allow for a much larger lounge and a new patio. “ ‘Simposio’ means “gathering place” in Italian,” said Luti, “and I want my guests to feel free to have a cocktail before dinner and an aperitif after, in a more relaxing atmosphere.”
The new location will features a large dining room, an intimate private dining room, a wine bar with a lounge and a patio, and features the same award winning Northern Italian cuisine that was offered at the former Richmond Avenue location. Executive chef Igor Rosi, native of Pescia, Italy, promises an “explosion of taste” in his new menu.
The beautiful frescos that adorn the walls were painted by Giorgio Cella, native of Barga, Italy. After studying at the Academy of Beautiful Arts in Carrara, Italy, his specialty is in restoration of old masters, as well as painting in their unique style.
